How can I audition for one of your shows?

Usually we will announce our auditions on our social media first. Auditioning is very simple: if you already live in Massachusetts, or are willing to travel, just show up at the location on the day of auditions. In the rare case that we host online auditions, they can be submitted to our email address.

How does your audition process work?

At the actual auditions, you will be asked to do a slate (name, age, experience, special talents) and then be asked to sing around 30 seconds - 1 minute of a song. You don’t have to audition for a specific role necessarily, but we don’t discourage it either. We will most likely write down notes while you sing, and possibly ask you questions after if we need clarification on anything you’ve told us.

What does being not-for-profit mean for your company?

Being a not-for-profit means that we don’t strive to make money from any of our events, sales, fundraisers. We are a registered nonprofit, which means if you do donate money to MRTC, part of that donation is tax deductible.

How does one join your team?

Our team is very selective, and not something you can apply or audition for, like you would with a role in a play. It is made up of mostly close friends and family.

What is your affiliation with Be More Chill and Joe Iconis?

We do not know Joe Iconis or Joe Tracz personally! We exist simply as fans of him and the show, who wish to put it on as a production sometime in the future. We are currently working on getting the rights to the show.

How do you raise money for your shows?

We raise money for our shows by doing fundraisers. Learn more about what we have coming up on our Events page.

What type of things do you do to fundraise?

Most often, we will perform a set of musical theater songs in a cabaret-type fashion. Though, sometimes, we will also do auctions!

What’s the best way to support Mystic River?

Support us by coming out to our fundraisers, donating to our GoFundMe, or just spreading the word about us in general. Every bit of buzz is appreciated by us here at MRTC!
